We're 'told' this is a "Plutonium" Bomb, just rolled off the shelf, as it were..( Plutonium was used in the Original Trinity Test, in Nevada..) so it's not new... Ahem.. Col. Manning is then given the insufferable choice of risking his life to save some poor sap who flies into the test area..(presumably, to get a real good view of the blast!) or his own life, good as it may be, judged in flashbacks later by a weenie roast or two, and some tense Korea moments, which could have been lifted from any History channel episode...
