"First burned, then disintegrated..!"Russ Bender explains, as the two scientists watch on in "amazement" the incredible beginning unfold for Glen Manning... We're 'told' this is a "Plutonium" Bomb, just rolled off the shelf, as it were..( Plutonium was used in the Original Trinity Test, in Nevada..) so it's not new... Ahem.. Col. Manning is then given the insufferable choice of risking his life to save some poor sap who flies into the test area..(presumably, to get a real good view of the blast!) or his own life, good as it may be, judged in flashbacks later by a weenie roast or two, and some tense Korea moments, which could have been lifted from any History channel episode... MST3K 0311 It Conquered the World 10/10

"He learned almost too late that, Man is a feeling creature..." Peter Graves and Lee Van Cleef in Roger Corman's "It Conquered the World" This is the start of Peter's speech at the end of the movie, and as Joel might say, "It wuz one hum dinger of a doosey it wuz.." This turgid tome is delivered at the end, and sums up what Peter's characters' been beefing about almost the whole movie, 'Monster from Venus bad, Humans from Earth, good... MST3K 0423 Bride of the Monster 7/10

"Now, in this forsaken jungle hell..." Bela's most heartfelt speech in Ed Wood's "Bride of the Monster"... This is, in a certain way, a piece of movie history. Any fan who watched Johnny Depp's "Ed Wood" will remember how the filming of these scenes with Bela Lugosi are some of the watermarks in his life, as well as Wood's. To then see the original movie, in all its nostalgic and creepy glory, rendered even more humorous and touching by MST, is a particular delight to Me, and I hope, other Fans... You can find the line in question, designed into a Shirt, and other products at the hotlink to My Store... When I try to come up with iconic movie lines to put on stuff, I use my own modest brain, the help from Fans and Friends,(Thanks, GoblinXXX!) and a little bit of discretion. It would be easy, and funny to design a shirt with Crow's line, "Now he's as strong as 20 Heroin addicts!" but I will leave that for another time, or perhaps another Fan or designer. Hello, Good Morning, and Welcome...

Hello, I've been away from this Blog for a while due to the Holiday break and other factors, but now that Obama is President, I feel I can write again... It is nice to see the optimism in this country rise up anew, even though I don't think the bottom has been reached in the Recession yet... I sent an Infrastructure idea to White House. gov about placing residential electric service underground to protect against ice storm outages, we'll see if that goes anywhere... Wondering if Republicans will further make themselves nonexistent by obstructing the President's stimulus plan... I gotta tell ya, folks, between the RNC chairman's "Barack the magic negro" song parody and the Right Wing noise machine's strident Talking Points re' Gitmo closing, No More Torture Executive Order, and Rush's "I hope he fails" statement, they are rapidly becoming a Self-fulfilling Parody... Your Comfort Food Tip of the Day is... Tuna Salad Sandwich Mix
When you prepare your tuna salad, first, spend the extra money for White Albecore, it's better than that 'pink stuff' they SAY is tuna... Next, take a little bit of salad from your Romain salad bag and shred it up by hand, placing it in the mix, and then, I like to put in a little ranch dressing and dill weed in addition to the mayo. Enjoy!
